Your support is needed to help me win the Etsy Awards (Australia & Zealand) Community’s Choice award!

So this happened early last week:  my Etsy shop, also known as Adelyn Makes, was announced as a Finalist in the Etsy Awards 2016 New Talent category for the Australia & New Zealand region. I am still reeling from the news even though like all the other finalists, we were informed earlier so we could supply the necessary words and images.  I’m still coming to grips that this creative journey I began less than a year ago has led to me this very point.

For me, even if I don’t end up winning any of the awards, I have already learnt so much from this experience and have done things I have never done before like writing a media release, approaching journalists and newspapers, writing about my art, and the list goes on.  Once I can gather my thoughts together, I’ll put some words on paper to summarise my experience and the lessons learnt.

The annual Etsy Awards highlight local creative talent and the Australia & New Zealand region has 5 categories: Art & Illustration and Paper Design, Home & Living, Fashion & Accessories, Lasting World, and New Talent.  The Australia & New Zealand judging panel members are Helen Souness, the Managing Director of Etsy Australia & Asia, Geneva Vanderzeil of A Pair and a Spare, Sara Donaldson of Harper & Harley, and Lucy Feagins of the Design Files.  The panel has selected the finalists and will now move on to selecting the winner in each category.  The public get to vote for a Community’s Choice award winner and that’s where I will need your help.

If you have enjoyed my art and think I am deserving of your vote, please head to my Etsy Awards Finalist page and vote for me.  Your vote will take me that one step closer to winning the Community’s Choice award.  You can view all the other finalists here.  Public voting ends 7 June at 5pm (AEST).  Winners will be announced on 20 June.

Thank you.
